Competition results of the A.W.O.L. competition held at Aldwickbury G. C. on Sunday 13 May 2007.
The format of this competition was Stableford.
A very wet day but as the scoring shows the Society as a whole scored very well. Individual scores that stand out are Adam Wheeler who shot a best of 102 and Mick Rolfe who shot 94. Well done to them both.
However the day will be remembered not for the good scoring but for Mick Rolfe’s driving skills! On the long up hill 16th Mick drove his ball into the trees on left. Looking to see where his ball would land after ricocheting between branches Mick saw not only his ball fall from the tree but a squirrel too! Unfortunately the squirrel will not be watching any more golf. The good news though is that Mick’s ball that was heading for out of bounds drop below the tree in the rough, allowing him to reach the green in 3 and finish with a par!
